We hope you are enjoying your summer.  We've had great beach weather for summer fun  and great rain to make our gardens continue to look lovely .

We are getting lots of customers coming in who are looking for the magic plants which deer will not eat.  The list is short but this is what we recommend for severe deer problems.   The following we have never seen attacked by deer nor gotten a report of being eaten.

Boxwood.    This is the number one plant to use if you have obstreperous deer.  I have

         Douglas Fir
         Rose of Sharon

How 'bout those Japanese Beetles.  Couldn't you just strangle their little necks?  Or drop them into a bowl of soapy water, or spray them with Sevin or Orthenex, or put up a Japanese Beetle Trap (far, far away from your plants..... like.... give the trap to your neighbor for a present.)   A dead beetle is a good beetle, no matter how you go about it.

Daylilies are a delight in the August garden.   Try our huge bright orange Rocket City, or the beautiful pink Hush Little Baby, or the magnificent bright red Chicago Apache, or the reblooming white Ice Carnival or any of the over 30 varieties here at the nursery.   They're great!

Come stroll through our Children's Garden.  It's cute and fun!    Click here to see the
